The Yellow M Edgar P Jacobs. Cinebook, 2007. At last this absolute classic from Jacobs is back in print in an English translation. Well done Cinebook! The story, first published in 1953 concerns the audacious crimes of The Yellow M a mysterious criminal mastermind who warns Scotland Yard that he will rob the Bank of England yet still gets away with it. Eventually the Government calls in Professor Philip Mortimer to try to crack the case.
Drawn in the famous Ligne Claire (clear line) style made famous by Hergé in his Tintin stories and others of the so-called Brussels School (i.e. those like Jacobs who worked on the Tintin magazine or were influenced by it). Like Tintin there is a classic and yet timeless air about Jacob's style, it has intrigued children and adults for generations and is no less relevant today. Fantastic value escapist entertainment. 72 pages. Soft Cover Full Colour 8" x 11" (203mm x 279mm) (ISBN-13: 9781905460212)
