How do I make an order?
We accept orders by , fax, phone, post, visit and of course here online. Our contact details are shown below. Use the Quick Search box to find items by title, artist, author, ISBN, topic or product code or just browse using the links on every page.
To order online, just click Buy next to any item(s) that you wish to buy. To complete your order click View Cart or Checkout near top right of the page and fill in your name, address, and payment details as needed. Your order is sent when you press the Finish button at the end of the order. You can check, change or cancel your order by clicking View Cart at any time.
Can I order from outside the UK?
Yes, we accept orders from most countries. If your country is not shown when you order, please and we will answer your order queries directly.
How can I pay?
We accept all the major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Carteblanche, Maestro, Delta and American Express.
We also accept online bank transfers via BACS, IBAN or SWIFT ('wires') and money orders payable to The Book Palace - please and note that all funds must be paid in full in UK pounds.
We also accept PayPal (our PayPal id is email@example.com). Please note that all sums received must be in UK Pounds.
We offer our Easy Payment Plan (timed payments) to help you to secure your favourite book or art by paying in easy instalments at no extra cost. All books (and art) priced over £250 (approx $400 or 300) can be paid for in up to 6 monthly instalments without fees or interest.
Example A: cost of book £600 so pay deposit of £150 then 3 monthly payments of £150
Example B: cost of book £250 so pay deposit of £84 then 2 monthly payments of £83
Example C: cost of art £600 so pay deposit of £100 then 5 monthly payments of £100

Will there be any customs charges/duties?
You may need to pay to customs clearance fees, import duties and taxes charged by your country once the shipment reaches you. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary from country to country and we recommend you contact your local customs office for further information. There are no customs duties on goods within the EU and customs duties for many countries on books and comics are kept low or zero.
Condition of books and comics
We sell mostly brand new and some rare secondhand books. All our Books and other items (magazines, comics) listed for sale are New - unopened and unread/unused - unless individually described otherwise.
Comics have their own grading system as follows:
Mint (m) - brand new, unopened, unread;
Fine (fn) - highly collectable condition, maybe some minor shelf wear;
Very Good (vg) - collectable, complete in every respect but clearly read and possibly minor wear to the edges and corners;
Good (g) - complete in every respect but covers worn or rubbed;
Reading Copy - complete in content, but heavily worn and may lack whole covers.
Can I visit you?
Yes, we welcome visitors to our premises in south east London, UK, which is open to visitors Monday - Friday, 10am - 4:30pm (10:00 - 16:30). It is helpful to contact us in advance of your visit so that we can confirm the availability of any items that may be of interest to you.
