With the success of EC's MAD, edited by the genius that was Harvey Kurtzman, several other imitations came out. Not to be outdone, EC lunched their own with Panic, Humor In a Varicose Vein. The artwork was supplied by Jack Davis, Will Elder, Jack Kamen, Wally Wood, with series editor, Al Feldstein supplying virtually all the cover illustrations.
Whilst EC's horror was reviled, it was the humour titles that really caused them trouble. None more so than issue #1's notorious spoof of Charles Clement Moore's, The Night Before Christmas.
