To call this book lavishly illustrated would be a gross understatement. It charts the history of the good old Grateful Dead from 1961 and their pre-history as The Warlocks up do the final concert before Jerry Garcia's death in 1995 and beyond to the reformed Dead pictured Summer 2003. Features articles on songs, albums and venues and the multitude of people who have worked with the band in some way or other.

There's a timeline included that links the band's history to that which was going on in what we laughingly refer to as the Reel World.
