Welcome to The Book Palace! We've been trading for over 40 years and pride ourselves on our friendly service, our competitive prices and our wide range of both new and out-of-print books, including first editions, limited editions, signed books, original artwork and original comics.
All our items are in excellent condition, including out-of-print and discounted books, unless otherwise stated in the description, and we do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship.
Our excellent contacts and know-how mean that we are able to source many out-of-print, back-catalogued books and limited editions that are otherwise unavailable, often at a good discount to the published price. |
How to Order
We accept orders by , phone, post, and here online! Our contact details are given below.
To order online, just click on the Add to Order button next to any item(s) that you wish to buy. To complete your order click on Complete My Order near the top of the page and you will be asked for your name, address, and payment details as needed. Your order is sent when you press the Finish button at the end of the order form. You can check, change or cancel your order by clicking Check My Order. If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will correct the mistake.
Please note that our couriers require a contact telephone number for delivery outside the UK and your order risks delay if you omit this.
We accept the following credit, debit and charge cards:      (our PayPal address is with payments in UK Pounds only). We also accept Bank Transfers ('wires') and Money Orders in UK Pounds - please ask for details. Please note that we do not accept cheques/checks.
If shopping from outside the UK: your credit/debit/charge card company will convert the transaction to your own currency. We bill in UK Pounds (£) and the US dollar ($) and euro (€) prices shown are approximate and based on £1 = $1.50 and £1 = €1,15. The actual exchange rate used will depend on your credit card company. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS FROM SOME COUNTRIES. Our system will advise you if this is the case.
To help you find items, use the navigation links at the top and bottom of every page, our Site Map, or use the Quick search box (top left) to find items by name, author, topic, keyword, publisher, product code, ISBN, etc.When confirmation of your order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable. |
Shipping And Handling
Our on-line ordering system will automatically calculate the shipping cost of your order. All shipping costs include handling, expert packing, delivery, insurance and VAT. Please note that if you are buying Books and Art together in the same order, we usually have to pack the art separately from the books and may need to charge extra shipping. We would of course agree this with you prior to shipping!
Please note that illustrators issues on subscription are sent free.

Delivery Schedule
We normaly despatch your order within 24 hours. Please allow up to 28 days for delivery, although orders are usually received within 5 days (UK) or 10 days (international). Please note that customers are responsible for any international duties and for items passing through international Customs. We do not deliver to P.O. Boxes.You must inform us within two working days if the goods are lost or damaged in transit so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem. Please quote your order number in all correspondence.You agree that proof of delivery supplied by our delivery company is sufficient evidence to establish that goods have been received. |
Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. Backordered items (as with all items) are not charged until they are shipped. |
Credit Card Security
We use industry standard SSL to encode your data when you enter your credit card details. The golden padlock (Internet Explorer) or golden key (Netscape) will show at the bottom of your Browser screen when you enter your credit/debit card details. Credit card details are not held in readable form on any web site. Ordering online is as secure as ordering by phone, fax, email or post. |
Guarantee
Your satisfaction is important to us. If any item we supply does not meet with your approval, please let us know and return it to us in its original condition within 14 days for a refund of your item(s). Please note that the dimensions given for art and books are approximate. |
